These posts are beside a pedestrian walk bridge, at a bus stop. I wonder if on weekdays, at quitting time, there is many a pick up game formed while waiting for the bus. Clearly there weren’t enough players for full-field last time…
Lots of small town and rural schools around Ontario have posts exactly like these. However, with the movement to amalgamate or close these schools, the fields are often neglected or abandoned. This one, though, still looks well maintained.
This type of field is becoming more and more rare, but they are still being built. I wonder how well anyone who’s colourblind distinguishes the marking of the different sports…?
Some foresight, or good pitch placement? If your ball does get behind the row of trees…it’s in a peach orchard. And to prove that kids DO get irony: only one of the posts have been climbed on (the one without the stickers). The opposite end…no stickers, no climbed-on netting.
